The Verdict Director's Cut

This is barely a fair fight on paper — a two-hour blockbuster against an eight-minute short — and a lopsided result mostly just says so. Jurassic World is a full meal: a functioning park, a whole cast, an arc, set pieces that cost more than most films earn. Battle at Big Rock is a proof of concept, one tense scene of a family pinned in an RV while a dinosaur wrecks their campsite. The short is a sharp little experiment about dinosaurs loose in the real world, but it is a scene, not a story, and a scene rarely outvotes a movie, however sharp the scene.
