Coin Flip Wins almost exactly half the time
2022 · Drama, Comedy · Jeremiah Zagar

No consensus on Hustle. Across 108 matchups it sits at 47% — exactly where 50% puts you, winning and losing in equal measure. Adam Sandler playing it straight in a basketball drama that earns every beat it hits. Voters who've seen it come in with real affection; the film's problem is that not enough voters have. Fans decide quickly — 1.2s avg vs 3.5s platform average.

The deadlock is real overall, but round by round there are cracks. 58% in the opening is genuinely strong; 28% in the semis is genuinely weak. The coin flip is an average, not a constant.

Space Jam at 19% is the toughest opponent in Hustle's bracket life. He Got Game causes similar problems at 35%.
