The Amazing Spider-Man 2
53% overall with a pattern worth knowing: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens well and fades. Early-round voters favor it; the films it faces in finals tend not to. Garfield's second outing polarized audiences on arrival and time hasn't settled the debate. It has emotional peaks that land hard, but the valleys around them give opponents an opening. 1.9s avg decision time (platform avg: 3.5s). No deliberation needed.
Synopsis
For Peter Parker, life is busy. Between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy, high school graduation cannot come quickly enough. Peter has not forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away, but that is a promise he cannot keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
First impressions are The Amazing Spider-Man 2's best weapon — 63% in the opening round is its peak. The semis dip to 41%, the final recovers to 45%, but that opening number remains the high-water mark.
Interstellar is the nearest thing to a true rival at 48%. The margin is slim and the outcome still feels unsettled. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 beats The Super Mario Bros. Movie (100%) and Star Wars (67%) convincingly. KPop Demon Hunters at 0% is where the dominance ends.
Family Fun Showdown: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 clears Moana 2 in the opening round and dispatches The Super Mario Bros. Movie at 100% in the final. A convincing start-to-finish run.
