The Deer Hunter
The Deer Hunter at 47% is about as even as it gets. The voters are divided, and 121 matchups haven't settled the debate. A harrowing war film that demands emotional investment most voters aren't prepared to give in a quick-choice format. The weight is real, and that weight is both the film's greatest strength and its most significant competitive cost. Voters pick in 1.5s on average — well under the 3.5s platform norm.
