Blue Chips
The front-runner pattern fits Blue Chips: strong in the opening rounds, shakier as the field thins. The 54% overall rate reflects a film that capitalizes on soft draws. Friedkin brought unexpected grit to a basketball film, and the presence of Shaq and real NBA players gives it a texture no scripted sports movie can replicate. In brackets, that authenticity is a niche asset — respected more than loved. It ranks behind the other William Friedkin film tracked here. 1.3s avg decision time (platform avg: 3.5s).
