Wicked currently beats Wicked: For Good 57–43
Part one edges part two — the setup got the songs and the spectacle.
The Verdict Director's Cut
This matchup has 14 votes. The picture may shift as more people weigh in.
The structural problem is simple: the first Wicked contains the numbers people came for, and For Good contains the resolution they have to earn. Chu stages "Defying Gravity" as a genuine event, Cynthia Erivo's voice climbing past the point where most films would cut, and the whole first installment builds toward that lift. The sequel has the harder, sadder material and fewer obvious peaks to organize around. For Good is arguably the more emotionally complete film, the one where the story actually pays off. But a forced choice tends to reward the half you leave humming, and that half is the first one. Narrowly, the showstopper takes it.
