Tough Draw Below average in every round
1998 · Comedy, Drama · Wes Anderson

The record for Rushmore is clear: 35% across 86 head-to-head matchups, with no round offering a foothold. It's below average from start to finish. Where the style people mean by "a Wes Anderson film" first shows up whole: Jason Schwartzman's Max Fischer, a fifteen-year-old who runs every club at his prep school and is failing, and Bill Murray as the depressed millionaire who becomes his rival in love. Nineteen ninety-eight, the Faces and Cat Stevens on the soundtrack, and the film a lot of critics still name when asked for the best Anderson.
