Rising Star Gets stronger in later rounds
2013 · Drama, Thriller, Crime · Denis Villeneuve

The overall record undersells Prisoners. 27% across 1,895 head-to-head matchups looks average until you look at how the numbers shift as a tournament progresses. The American breakout that put Villeneuve on Hollywood's radar is a punishing moral thriller voters tend to admire more than they want to sit through again. Choosing it means re-entering hours of rain, dread, and a decent man doing indecent things, and not everyone signs up for that twice. It ranks among the weakest 2010s performers on the platform.

Synopsis

Keller Dover is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street.
